Young Lady Killed, Body Parts Removed Akwa Ibom

by

The student community of Ekpri Nsukara, near the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) main campus in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is in mourning following the brutal murder of a young woman.

Her decapitated body, missing the upper abdomen, was found stuffed in a ‘Ghana – Must – Go’ bag and left at the entrance to the Boys’ School in the Anua area of the town.

Comrade Emmanuel Ekong, a UNIUYO student, expressed shock over the incident and couldn’t confirm if the victim was a student of the institution due to the gruesome state of her remains.

“We woke up this early Monday morning to discover the trunk of a young lady inside a ‘Ghana – Must – Go’ bag, chopped off from the waist and the other part of the body from the waist to the head taken away by her killers. So, we can’t really identify whether she’s our fellow student; maybe later,” Ekong stated.

“Early this morning, a female’s body parts were found slaughtered and dumped in a ‘Ghana – Must – Go’ bag at the entrance to the Boys’ School, Anua, Nwaniba Road Uyo, just before the Ekpri Nsukara junction. It’s pathetic that people could resort to this level of barbarism against a fellow human, no matter the offense she might have committed,” added Nseobong Idiong, another student.

Calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators, Comrade Ifiok Bassey, a youth activist, urged Governor Umo to intervene and ensure the culprits are brought to justice. He referenced a similar incident from the previous week where another young woman was beheaded, and her headless body discarded in a farmland near the UdoUdoma Banking Layout in Uyo.
