Over 100 members of the House of Representatives gathered yesterday to pay their final respects to Deaconess Vivian Ekpo, the beloved wife of Obong Paul Ekpo, who represents Etinan / Nsit Ibom / Nsit Ubium federal constituency.

The solemn occasion took place in Etinan Local Council, Akwa Ibom State, as they bid farewell to Vivian, fondly known as ‘Nee Akenge.’

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, was present, represented by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu.

In heartfelt messages, the lawmakers eulogized Deaconess Ekpo as a woman of virtue, a devout lover of God, her family, and her community. They praised her exemplary life and the legacy she left behindโ€”a legacy of virtue, integrity, and selfless service.

During this difficult time, the House extended its unwavering support to Hon. Ekpo and his family, offering prayers for strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Despite the grief, the House found consolation in the fact that Deaconess Ekpo lived a life well-lived, serving as a shining example of all that is admirable and noble in our nation. Her memory will forever remain a source of inspiration to those who knew her and her contributions to the community.
