Troupes representing all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, are set to gather in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, for a four-day pan-Nigeria cultural and musical event called the Nigerian Cultural and Musical Fiesta (NICUMFEST).
The theme for the event is “Mobilising Nigeria’s Cultural Diversity for National Economic Prosperity.”
Scheduled to take place at Ibom Hall, Uyo, from November 22 to 25, NICUMFEST is a unique cultural and musical festival that aims to bring together troupes from across the nation. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the private sector and the government, promoted by Arts Impacts Productions.
NICUMFEST is designed to offer a platform for live performances, competitions, and exhibitions by troupes from all 36 states, the FCT, and privately-owned cultural and musical groups. Unlike traditional national events focused solely on entertainment, NICUMFEST is innovatively structured to harness the diverse cultural and creative resources within each state. It aims to add value to these resources and drive investment through post-event promotion and marketing services, both nationally and internationally.
The festival’s objectives include showcasing creative talents, promoting Nigeria’s artistic assets, enhancing creative capacities, and fostering strategic national synergy to leverage the country’s cultural potential for employment generation, promotion, and global exportation of its creative resources.
NICUMFEST Uyo 2023 is positioned as a national cultural and musical celebration and a global platform for the arts community to come together.
