Dr. Ekemini Essien, the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of AHF, highlighted the significance of the training in equipping the advocacy group with strategies to enhance access to HIV and TB services in the community.
Participants were trained to identify and provide free quality services at the community level, in collaboration with AHF. The training also focused on imparting advocacy skills and understanding the essence of advocacy.
Essien emphasized the importance of the advocacy group in bridging knowledge gaps, raising awareness on public health issues, and mobilizing community resources to address their needs. He underscored AHF’s commitment to community-driven initiatives, especially in underserved areas.
AHF Nigeria’s Advocacy and Marketing Manager, Steve Aborisade, outlined the role of the advocacy group in drawing attention to community challenges and soliciting responses from stakeholders.
