Minister of State for Petroleum Engages Akwa Ibom Residents in Grassroots Support Drive for President Tinubu

Ekperikpe Ekpo, the Minister of State for Petroleum overseeing gas resources, utilized the extended Yuletide holiday to connect with the people of Akwa Ibom state, aiming to garner support for President Bola Tinubu through a grassroots initiative.

Organizing various programs, the minister assured his audience of President Tinubu’s forthrightness and commitment to steering Nigeria in the right direction.

Addressing the Leaders of Thought under the Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum (ADF), Ekpo expressed gratitude for their support in the 2023 presidential election and reassured them that their efforts would not be in vain. He acknowledged their significant role in President Tinubu’s victory and emphasized the president’s dedication to overcoming economic challenges.

The minister delivered a similar message during meetings with the State Working Committee and a local chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging party members to adopt a Pan-Nigerian outlook for the overall development of the nation. He emphasized President Tinubu’s commitment to a government that serves every Nigerian, regardless of party affiliation or religious persuasion.

In a meeting with the Akwa Ibom state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekpo called for fair and balanced reportage, urging journalists to give the Tinubu administration the benefit of the doubt. He assured them that with the Presidential Initiative on CNG and other initiatives, the global energy crisis would be addressed in Nigeria.

During a Christmas visit by the NUJ, Ekpo was congratulated on his assumption of office as a Minister and the first Nigerian gas czar. The NUJ pledged fair and balanced reportage of government activities at all levels.

Additionally, the Minister engaged with alumni of the Queen of the Apostles Seminary (QAS), where he spent a significant part of his career as a teacher. Led by his former student, Hon. Patrick Umoh, the QAS Old Boys applauded President Tinubu for appointing a competent manager of men and resources in Ekpo, expressing optimism about a stable and affordable energy source in Nigeria based on Ekpo’s leadership.
