The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended a man accused of killing his own son and subsequently burning the corpse in the village of Ebe Ikpe, Essien Udim Local Government Area.
As reported by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon, the incident was brought to the authorities’ attention by the community’s village head and council chairman. The accused, Innocent Uko, reportedly confessed to the crime, citing his son’s behavior as the reason for the act.
The police also announced the arrest of Charley Edem John for allegedly abducting two seven-year-old children, with further investigations underway. Once investigations are completed, the suspects will face legal proceedings.
