Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State recently made important announcements regarding his appointments of executive council members and personal aides.
During his maiden Government House Covenant Service, themed “The God of New Beginnings,” he shared his perspective on the appointment process.
Governor Eno expressed his intention to have a blend of both familiar faces, who had served under the previous administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel, and new individuals when the list is finally released.
He emphasized that it is crucial to incorporate the wisdom and experience of those who have previously worked in governance while embracing fresh perspectives.
Regarding his personal aides, the governor revealed that their selection would be primarily based on rewarding loyalty and dedication. He acknowledged the importance of individuals who had supported him throughout the challenges faced during the emergence of his administration.
Governor Eno stated that he would prioritize those who stood with him in the trenches, demonstrating hard work and selflessness, over individuals solely relying on impressive resumes.
The governor expressed gratitude for the mercies of God during the election campaign and thanked the religious leaders for their prayers. He assured the people that with God’s guidance, the state would achieve remarkable progress, aligning with the theme of the service, “the God of New Beginnings.”
During the service, Primate Emmanuel Udofia of The African Church delivered a sermon emphasizing the significance of connecting with God and receiving His sustaining grace throughout life’s endeavors.
Notable attendees at the service included the First Lady, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, Deputy Governor Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, Secretary to the State Government Prince Enobong Uwah, political stalwarts, religious leaders, and friends and associates of Governor Umo Eno, among others.
