Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, was unable to sell his platform, according to Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel, despite the favorable conditions the state government created for him to launch his campaign rally there.
Udom asserted that Tinubu has shown the populace that he has nothing to give but blathering and insulting their character, as he did to more than 7.9 million Akwa Ibom residents.
Atiku Abubakar, according to Tinubu, would sell off their palm trees and flee to Dubai, and he urged Akwa Ibom residents not to support him during his campaign rally on Monday at the state-owned Nest of Champions International stadium.
The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was brought to the state by the Akwa Ibom governor, who the APC presidential contender called a “boy” in pidgin.
He said, “Akwa Ibom, that Boy wey bring Atiku here, wey de call himself Governor, tell him enough is enough! He lives in my backyard in Lagos, If no be say we be one I would have driven him home. You see that mansion he is living, I would just use lizards, pigeons and scorpions and put inside.“
Governor Emmanuel said he would not condescend to reply to Tinubu’s accusations since they were empty on Monday night in Government House, Uyo, when he inaugurated the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, Chairmen, and Members of Boards and Commissions, as well as a Transition Committee.
According to him, Tinubu has nothing to offer Nigerians, which is why he chose to slander and abuse people while running for president.
However, he questioned whether any Akwa Ibomite could travel to Lagos, where Tinubu resides, or the actual State from which he is originally from, insult him in the same way, and still be permitted to safely return home. “But here, our people at the Stadium, including some state governors, just laughed and applauded him,” he said.
He said, “it is sad that Tinubu, who was granted State-owned facilities such as the airport, security, stadium, and a good atmosphere to come in and sell his manifesto, ended up coming to insult the integrity of over 7.9 million Akwa Ibom people.
“What makes him think he will govern Nigeria? If I reply him now, people will call me and say, haba oga you are not like that. But I will reply him one day. There is nothing like ‘emilokan’ (it is my turn)here, Nigeria is in God’s hands.”
The governor who is the PDP presidential campaign chairman asked Tinubu to take a cue from Atiku, who never insults the governor of any state when he comes.
The governor also expressed his gratitude to the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries for taking on the challenging responsibility of service and urged them to view themselves as ambassadors and work to raise the bar of leadership, which will foster productivity and foster positive working relationships with subordinates in the service.
