Former Ini Local Government Chairman Applauds Supreme Court Verdict Affirming Governor Umo Eno’s Election Victory

The immediate past Chairman of Ini Local Government area in Akwa Ibom State, Right Honourable Israel Idaisin, has expressed commendation for the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the election victory of Governor Umo Eno.

Describing the verdict as a victory for the people of Akwa Ibom, Idaisin applauded the apex court for contributing to the deepening of the nation’s democracy through its sound judgment.

In a press briefing held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Idaisin acknowledged the significance of the Supreme Court’s decision in reflecting the mandate given to Governor Umo Eno by the electorate. He highlighted the joyous mood that swept across the state following the dismissal of appeals by the NNPP, APC, and YPP candidates challenging the outcome of the March 18, 2023, election.

Idaisin stated, “The legal battle is over; Governor Umo Eno, who meant well for the citizens and the State, should be allowed to focus and ensure the full implementation of the ARISE Agenda blueprint.”

He emphasized the need for unity and support for Governor Umo Eno, asserting that the progress, development, and growth initiated by the governor will continue without hindrance. Idaisin called on other candidates to put election disputes behind them and rally around the governor for the greater good of the state.

Highlighting the governor’s commitment to all-inclusive governance, Idaisin praised Umo Eno for fostering unity beyond partisan lines. He urged everyone to exhibit good sportsmanship, love, tolerance, and selflessness in handling matters that bind the people of Akwa Ibom together.

The ex-council boss concluded by appealing for solidarity and prayers for the success of Governor Umo Eno and his plans for the state, emphasizing that the ARISE Agenda has already brought positive impacts across Akwa Ibom.
