First Lady of Akwa Ibom Partners with Medical Women Association to Fight Breast Cancer

At the January edition of the Akwa Ibom State Women Monthly Prayer meeting themed ‘Glory Without Bounds’, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, the Wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, expressed her commitment to collaborate with the state branch of the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN) in the battle against breast cancer.

During the event, Dr. Uduak Usanga, the State President of MWAN, delivered a talk on breast and cervical cancer, prompting Mrs. Eno to urge women to prioritize breast health and seek medical attention if they notice any abnormalities.

Mrs. Eno announced her intention to visit the MWAN Well Woman Clinic and explore the possibility of establishing a cancer screening center as part of her pet project.

She emphasized the importance of early detection and treatment in combating breast cancer.

In her address, Mrs. Eno emphasized the significance of God’s glory in empowering women to achieve greatness.

She encouraged the women of Akwa Ibom to embrace God’s glory, which she believes will enable them to excel in all their endeavors.

Pastor Idongesit Essienobong delivered an exhortation on the theme “Glory Without Bounds,” highlighting the manifestation of God’s glory through signs, wonders, and miracles.

She urged women to seek reconciliation with God and trust in His saving grace.

A delegation from the Akwa Ibom State branch of MWAN sensitized attendees on the dangers of cervical and breast cancer and announced plans for a Cancer Walkathon to raise awareness and promote early detection.

The event, attended by women from all Local Government Areas of the State, featured special numbers, testimonies, hymns, and praise and worship sessions.

Special intercessory prayers were offered for Governor Umo Eno’s victory at the Supreme Court and for peace in Akwa Ibom State.
