Former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has commended Governor Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom for his effective leadership and impactful governance during a thanksgiving service marking the governor’s 60th birthday in Uyo.
The event, which took place at the International Christian Worship Centre, was well attended, highlighting widespread public support for Governor Eno.
Jonathan praised the continuity and focus of governance in Akwa Ibom State since the democratic era began in 1999, highlighting the positive trajectory set by former governors and continued under Governor Eno’s administration.
He expressed confidence in Eno’s capabilities, noting his brief yet impressive tenure and his potential to set a positive example for the church and the community.
The celebration also featured remarks from Deacon Udom Emmanuel, the immediate past governor, who emphasized the significance of the thanksgiving in light of Governor Eno’s achievements and the divine guidance in his life.

Other dignitaries, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, represented by Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, and the Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, also offered their congratulations, commending Governor Eno’s dedication to peace and development in Akwa Ibom.
The state’s President-General of the Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, Ntenyin Solomon Etuk, described Governor Eno as a trusted and god-fearing leader, echoing the sentiments of unity and progress voiced by other speakers.
