Connect Initiative, a socio-political group has concluded a 2-day free eye screening outreach and political sensitization programme in Uruan Local Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Held at the Women Development Centre, Council Secretariat, Uruan, the event attracted hundreds of beneficiaries who were attended to by experts from M-Clear Vision Clinic and volunteers. They enjoyed such services as vision awareness, free reading glasses, free eyedrops, blood pressure check, visual acuity text, ophthalmoscopy and refraction.
In addition, Connect Initiative which has vowed to canvass massively for Pastor Uno Eno,the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), gubernatorial candidate in Akwa Ibom astate also used the occasion to sensitize beneficiaries on voter education, the need to collect their PVCs and vote for the right candidates.

Those in attendance were enlightened on the vision of Pastor Umo Eno as encapsulated in his ARISE Agenda and that apart from having the capacity, competence and character for the office, he is the best choice because he would be continuing the good works of Governor Udom Emmanuel by furthering peace, prosperity and development in the state.

Special Guest of Honour, Hon. (Surv.) Iniobong Ekpenyong, Executive Chairman, Uruan LGA, who also represented the House of Assembly Speaker/Uyo senatorial District Candidate, Hon. Aniekan Bassey, thanked the organisers, sponsors and partners for this wonderful philanthropic gesture which he described as ” selfless service” and for thinking good about humanity.
He noted that Connect Initiative’s act of kindness was rare and worthy of emulation.
The elated beneficiaries expressed sincere appreciation to the leadership of Connect Initiative for finding them worthy of their benevolence. They assured everyone of their loyalty to PDP, pledging to massively mobilize and vote for Pastor Umo Eno and all PDP candidates come 2023.
