Mkpat Enin, the home Local Government Area of the late Akwa Ibom First Lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, hosted a solemn assembly at the council secretariat to honor the memory of their beloved daughter.
Organized by the Transition Committee led by Princess Mercy Bassey, the assembly brought together the community in a show of unity, offering heartfelt prayers for strength and comfort for the grieving First Family.
Addressing the emotionally charged gathering, which included political stakeholders, religious leaders, and members of traditional institutions, Council Chairman Princess Mercy Bassey urged the people of Mkpat Enin to remain resilient and to envelop the First Family in their prayers.
“This tragic event has plunged us into deep despair and sorrow, knowing we have lost a caring mother and a unifying figure whose greatest desire was to see Mkpat Enin flourish in unity and love,” she stated, her voice filled with emotion.
“We are particularly saddened by her passing at a time when the state needed her compassion and guidance the most. We stand in solidarity with our beloved in-law and leader, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, and the entire First Family during this irreplaceable loss.”
Princess Bassey further emphasized the crucial role the First Lady played as a wife, mother, and supporter of both the Governor and his administration. “Our hearts cannot fully grasp the depth of this tragedy. As we mourn, we lift them in prayer, asking God to grant them peace and strength. May her soul find eternal rest,” she added.
Pastor Patience Umo Eno was more than just the First Lady—she was a beacon of hope, a pastor, and a philanthropist, renowned for her unwavering commitment to the welfare of the less privileged. Through her charitable works, she tirelessly supported widows, children, and the underprivileged. As a devoted wife to Governor Umo Eno and a loving mother to her children, her dedication to family and faith remained steadfast.
