The Akwa Ibom State Government has pledged its commitment to promoting entrepreneurship at all levels in the state, with a focus on export as part of the effort to achieve the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno’s administration.
This commitment was announced by the Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, during a one-day workshop and exhibition organized by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) in collaboration with Young Women in Business (YWIB), Akwa Ibom State.
Ememobong, who represented the state government at the workshop, congratulated the organizers for their successful event and appreciated the theme, “Strategic Business Positioning through Standards and Quality Assurance for Exports.” He emphasized that entrepreneurial development is a key component of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE agenda and will receive support for growth and possible export.
The President of Young Women in Business, Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Joyce Effie, highlighted the group’s activities, including mentoring, advocacy, and encouraging women to engage in meaningful ventures.
The South-South Regional Director of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Mr. Usman Mohammed, represented the Director-General of SON, Mallam Farouk Salim, and commended the organizers and participants for their engagement in standardizing and regulating the quality of products, goods, and services in Nigeria.
This commitment to entrepreneurship and export promotion reflects the state government’s efforts to boost economic development and create opportunities for its residents.
