Akwa Ibom State Command of NSCDC Appoints New Commandant

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Akwa Ibom State has welcomed its 15th State Commandant, Mr. Eluwade Eluyemi.

He takes over from Dr. Yusuf Imam, who has been redeployed to the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja. This announcement was made in a press statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Friday Ekerete, and shared with journalists in Uyo on Thursday.

Eluyemi, a Mechanical Engineer by profession, brings a wealth of experience from his service in various NSCDC commands across the country. He holds a Masters degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria (2016).

Upon assuming his new role, Eluyemi briefed the officers of the command and sought their support in fulfilling the mandates of the Corps as outlined in the NSCDC Act of 2003 and 2007, as amended. He expressed appreciation for his predecessor’s valuable contributions and service to the command’s growth. Eluyemi pledged to bring renewed enthusiasm and dedication to fulfilling the Corps’ mandates.

The newly appointed state commandant emphasized the importance of collaboration with the state government and other security agencies to ensure the adequate protection of critical infrastructure. He encouraged the people of Akwa Ibom to provide the command with useful information regarding crimes and criminal activities, enabling them to carry out their mandate effectively.

With this leadership transition, the Akwa Ibom State Command of NSCDC aims to continue its efforts in safeguarding the state and maintaining law and order. The appointment of Mr. Eluwade Eluyemi as the 15th State Commandant signifies a fresh chapter for the command, and it is expected that his expertise and dedication will contribute to the overall security of the state.
