Akwa Ibom State is strategically positioning itself as an education tourism destination, according to the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Charles Udoh.
Speaking during the 2025 Budget Estimate Review meeting, Udoh highlighted the state government’s efforts in fostering educational exchange programs and establishing model schools. These initiatives, he said, are designed to attract students from both within and outside the state, thereby stimulating the local economy and promoting the state’s cultural heritage.
Udoh further praised the recent success of the Akwa Ibom State delegation at the Bilateral International School Debate in Singapore. He viewed this achievement as a testament to the state government’s commitment to academic excellence and its alignment with the ARISE agenda.
The Commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for his unwavering support in advancing tourism in the state. By investing in various tourism sectors, the government aims to make Akwa Ibom a premier tourist destination.
