Accompanied by his Deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, and the Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, Governor Eno also instructed the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency (AKSEPWMA), Prince Akpan Ikim, to promptly evaluate the flood situation and initiate necessary actions.
Furthermore, the governor approved the construction of Afaha Ube street, connecting Atiku Abubakar Avenue and Ikot Ekpene Road, with proper side drains. He directed the Commissioner for Works, Professor Eno Ibanga, to ensure immediate commencement of the project to provide a lasting solution to the flood condition.
Governor Eno expressed his commitment to addressing the needs of the people, saying, “We want to be a responsive Government.” He assured the residents that the road repairs and drainage construction would commence the following week, providing relief to the affected area and enhancing the movement of people and vehicles.
The visit was prompted by calls from residents and various quarters in the state, demonstrating the governor’s responsiveness to the concerns of the people. Governor Eno emphasized that his administration’s ARISE Agenda drives his determination to serve the people diligently and ensure their well-being.
He stated, “When people draw my attention, the ones I can go, I will go. The one I cannot go, I have sworn in the Commissioners, I can send it to them, and then we try and get things done.” This approach aligns with his mandate to prioritize the welfare of the citizens and address pressing issues affecting the state.
