Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has addressed the reasons behind his recent utilization of the State-owned commercial airline, Ibom Air, for official trips outside the state.

He clarified that his intention was to promote the airline’s brand and gain a deeper understanding of its operations.

Governor Eno also dispelled rumors surrounding the use of the official Governor’s jet by the immediate past Governor, Udom Emmanuel. He urged Akwa Ibom residents to refrain from spreading unfounded and malicious allegations.

Speaking to reporters upon his return from official engagements in Abuja at the Victor Attah International Airport, Governor Eno highlighted his role as the chief marketing officer of the State-owned airline. He chose to travel on Ibom Air to assess its service quality, which he commended as exceptional and on par with international standards, making it the preferred choice for air travelers in the country.

Addressing the speculation that he used public transportation due to the former governor’s use of the official jet, Governor Eno humorously questioned whether people would make similar assumptions when he eventually travels on the soon-to-be-launched palliative buses, which are intended to mitigate the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Governor Eno emphasized that his governance style involves demystifying the leadership role, fostering easy connections with ordinary citizens, and promoting the Akwa Ibom brand. He urged the community to move beyond baseless discussions and focus on more substantive matters for the betterment of the state.
